A lot of my clients ask me where I recommend a session to occur, so I thought I’d compose a list for inquiring minds. These are my favorite locations in the East Valley, separated by location:
The Riparian Preserve at Greenfield/Guadalupe (above picture’s location). This is my all time favorite spot. Most of my back to back mini-sessions take place here because of it’s versatility as there is a cactus garden, tree archway, lake, stream, bridge and a bunch of shrubbery. Often times, there are seasonal flowers and the kids also enjoy the wild animals such as bunnies, birds, turtles, fish. I consider this the best “Taste of Arizona” place.
Downtown Gilbert at Gilbert Road/Elliot. My other favorite 🙂 This area has railroad tracks, lots of urban backgrounds, a waterfall/water ball/water tower, a green shubbery spot, a hallway with cool zigzag lighting, and stairs. It also has a few spots to create a rustic vibe.
Val Vista Lakes at Val Vista/Baseline. There is a waterfall hill, a huge lake, gorgeous flowers with well-kept grounds, and a metal tunnel. Many weddings are held here as a result. I do have access inside of here via membership, so we can easily go inside for our session for free.
The Potato Barn at Williams Field/Recker. A huge abandoned red barn, rail road tracks, and a large produce field create a very rustic/country vibe for this unique location. There is also a viney “P” wall for those of you with “P” last names!
Power Ranch at Germann/Ranch House Parkway. This neighborhood is noted for it’s gorgeous lakes, lush grass, and tree lined streets.
Agritopia at Higley/Ray. My favorite farming community has a gorgeous vine archway, a gorgeous produce garden, and a large metal shed. It is a restaurant, as well (which I highly recommend if you haven’t tried it yet- side note!) but there is a fee of $50 to have a session here.
Downtown Chandler– A rose garden, hotel with a great vine walkway, courtyard, and a grassy area make this quite the versatile location.
The Groves Church at Gilbert/Queen Creek roads. This popular spot has groves of trees that will frame your pictures beautifully.
MCC Rose Gardens at Dobson and Southern. This location is such a hidden GEM. One of my clients suggested it to me for a session, and I LOVE shooting there. It is a gorgeous location, especially in the spring!
Mesa Center for the Arts. Great architecture including fun buildings and water features create an artsy feel.
Orange Groves around McDowell and 202. This location provides another set of groves to frame an outdoor session.
And for an additional fee:
The Olive Mill at Combs/Rittenhouse. This area has olive trees, a railroad track, and lots of surrounding fields.
The Pecans at Chandler Heights/Hawes. These groves make for a gorgeous location, as well.
Tempe Town Lake– The lake creates a great backdrop with the bridges, train tracks and graffiti wall are fun for an urban twist, and the houses have an East coast feel.
or, consider heading north to…
Fountain Hills Fountain
The Boyce Thompson Arboretum right outside of Superior, AZ. Hello, gorgeous outdoor scenery.
Sedona. Red rocks. Need I say more? SO many great places here!
